College of Staten Island, CUNY

The Department of English of the College of Staten Island, City University of New York seeks a specialist in the "long eighteenth century" British or eighteenth-century transatlantic literature. Responsibilities include teaching elective and required courses for majors, in particular, British and American Literature Survey. Also required are teaching other literature and freshman writing courses, performing department and college service, and engagement in an active and productive research agenda.

Qualification Requirements:

PhD in literature or related field required with expertise in 18th Century Literature; college teaching experience; a demonstrated commitment to teaching; and a strong record of research and publication. Ability to teach a broad range of material, but in particular 18th Century British Literature, in all levels of undergraduate and graduate literature courses desired.

*Romantic Poetry*: Assistant Professor in British poetry of the Romantic period. Desirable secondary interests include British prose of the Romantic period, 18th century literature, Romantic writing in a transnational frame, and literary and cultural theory. Eastern Illinois University

Tenure-track position in Creative Writing. We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of the following: playwriting and screenwriting, fiction, poetry, nonfiction. Publication in area of specialization and competence in teaching of creative writing at undergraduate and graduate levels required.

Duquesne University

There is an opening for a ttenure-track Assistant Professor in English at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, with expertise in Early Modern British Literature (with a preference for 17thCentury and/or non-dramatic literature). The Duquesne English Department has a full-time faculty of 21, teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses serving approximately 200 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate students, divided evenly between MA and PhD programs in literature.
