The Minor in English Language and Literature

The minor in English at the graduate level consists of 12 semester credits (typically four courses) consistent with or complementary to your major. While the minor is broadly defined, we recommend that one course be Introduction to Methods in Literary Studies (EngL 5001) or Introduction to Literary and Cultural Theory (EngL 5002), and that the other three courses be focused in an identifiable cluster, for example, focusing on literary theory, a historical era, or English language.

As a prerequisite to minoring in English, you must have taken at least twelve semester credits (typically four courses) in English or American literature at the undergraduate level.
